You can subscribe and unsubscribe on your own and as needed - like when you have a light or heavy load of email. Keep in mind we do not want to overload or clutter the email with small notes - like thank you notes for thank you notes. However, it is designed to help us discuss issues from diverse points of view and parts of the globe. It is a self-generating listserve; however moderators have volunteered to initiate and guide discussions as needed. Job postings are welcome, as are relevant publications.
Our TIG community has its own listserv- a distribution list that encourages and allows us to discuss issues as they relate to the entire spectrum of minority issues in evaluation. Although coordinated by the Minority Issues TIG, the list is open for use by anyone.
I. Subscribing
People can subscribe themselves to an open majordomo list by sending an electronic mail message to majordomo@Virginia.edu with the subject:
subscribe
and the text of the message:
subscribe mievaltig
end
where mievaltig is the name of the list to which they want to subscribe.
(Note: these are two commands, on two lines. They must appear as given without extraneous characters or spaces.)
II. Sending Messages
Most members and owners want to send messages to their list. They need to address their message to:
mievaltig@Virginia.edu
where mievaltig is the name of the majordomo list of which they are a member.
They should include a subject that describes the topic of their message and then include their message. (If you have any questions, feel free to contact Rodney Hopson at hopson@duq.edu.)
