Join us for short 20 minute webinar-based demonstrations by and for evaluators. These are informal, fun, and a great way to learn something new during a break from your day.

Demonstrations are free for members. Not a member but wish to participate? Contacted Heidi in the AEA office (heidi@eval.org or 1-508-748-3326) to purchase a demonstration pass ($80 for unlimited demonstrations for one year, $30 for students, and membership is included).

    Looking for ways to visualize your evaluation data? The ManyEyes data visualization website may be just the tool for you! Leslie Goodyear is a Program Officer with the National Science Foundation on loan from the Education Development Center in Newton, MA. She'll be demonstrating the basic capabilities of Many Eyes (http://manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com/manyeyes/), a free online data visualization tool that can help to produce representations of both qualitative and quantitative data sets. You'll learn about the product's capabilities, see examples, and gain enough information to determine whether to explore further on your own given the resource links provided a the end.

    Audience: Those who have not submitted an AEA conference proposal before or who had significant questions while doing so
    Description: Want to share your knowledge, skills, or lessons learned via a presentation at the AEA Conference but not sure how to get started? AEA Executive Director Susan Kistler will walk you through how to prepare for and submit a proposal to present at Evaluation 2010 including choosing the best presentation format, preparing and focusing your proposal, identifying an appropriate reviewing group, and tips for success. We'll walk through an example proposal submission form online and have an opportunity for questions as well.

    Audience: Beginner with little experience in survey design on facilitator who wishes to see examples for beginning audience
    Description: Amy Germuth, founder and President of EvalWorks, LLC, an independent evaluation and survey research firm, will demonstrate how to use five key questions to improve the reliability, validity, and value of the responses you get from individual survey questions. Appropriate for the beginner, this presentation will help you get the most from your surveys and also presents content that is appropriate as a teaching tool or for use with stakeholders during collaborative instrument development.

Paul Duignan has been a practicing evaluator for over 20 years and is involved in the development of DoView software.
