TRAVEL, HOTELS,
BALTIMORE
!! Note that as of 10/8/07 all of the five
hotels at which we held room blocks have filled their allocations and
are not releasing further room to us.
This link takes you to an excellent pdf
map of the downtown hotels. The headquarters hotels for the event are
the Sheraton Baltimore City Center (#6) and the Radisson Plaza Lord
Baltimore (#7). You may wish to work with a travel agent in your region
to assist in identifying a hotel for your stay. !!
New for 2007: All reservations should be made through the AEA Housing
Bureau run by our partners at the
Baltimore Convention and Visitors Association in order to take advantage
of the significantly discounted conference rates. You cannot get the
conference rates by contacting the hotels directly. Working with the
Housing Bureau, you will be able to check all of the conference hotels via
a single web link or call.
Based on the number of rooms filled in
previous years, the conference hotels will fill early. Please make your
reservations at your earliest convenience to ensure that you have a room.
Dates:
AEA’s special rates are available beginning on Friday, November 2, at most
hotels based on space availability. Come early and spend the week! See the
sites in Baltimore or rent a car or take the train and explore
Washington, DC, less than an hour away. If you are coming for
pre-conference workshops, as most people do, these begin as early as
Monday, November 5. If you are coming strictly for the conference
itself, it will begin at 3:15 PM on Wednesday, November 7. The
conference ends at 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, and there are
post-conference workshops from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, November
11. The workshop schedule and list may be found at
http://www.eval.org/eval2007/aea07.PDW.asp.
We recommend making
your reservations online if at all possible so
that you have an immediate printable record of your reservation. If you do
decide to call in your reservation, you will receive an acknowledgement
via email or fax following the call.
Government
Travelers: The maximum lodging rate for US government
travelers to the city of Baltimore is listed as $148. The rooms at the

for the extra space for an extended stay. This hotel is a great option,
especially if you upgrade to the one-bedroom suite, if you are
traveling with your family.
