| Abstract: What is evaluating? Is it an occupation, or even a profession? How is it practiced, learned and how can it be taught? Our point is to bring new answers to these questions. We have chosen to take a look at real evaluation activity through a doctoral thesis in education sciences. We have studied the way evaluation is practiced and learned by beginners, and the way it is practiced and has been learned by experts. The use of models and methods from psychology of work and learning highlights the specificities of evaluation. We will show how this new approach widens the knowledge of evaluative practice, learning and teaching. We will finally supplement and discuss some well-known works in evaluation. |
