Abstract: The primary purpose of this session is to provide information on using NVIVO 7 when conducting evaluation research. The presenter will give a brief review of its basic functions, followed by a variety of examples that illustrate how NVIVO can be used to conduct literature reviews, compile and analyze field notes and observations, and present results to stakeholders and peer reviewed journals. The examples involve information on adolescent peer relationships, youth participation in extracurricular activities, and an evaluation of smoke-free capacity building efforts. This session is intended to introduce evaluators to the different facets of NVIVO, as well as its usefulness in conducting evaluation research and disseminating results.
