| Abstract: In response to increasing demands for government accountability and the need to promote program improvement and organizational learning, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s Evaluation Support Division designed a series of Train-the-Trainer courses in Logic Modeling, Performance Measurement, Program Evaluation and a Performance Management Primer for Managers that center on equipping Agency staff to deliver training and technical assistance to others. Course materials include, training slides, exercises, case studies and a 'script', complete with key talking points to aid the trainer with course delivery. This demonstration will walk conference participants through the Train-the-Trainers materials, highlighting aspects of the training that were successful or unsuccessful in EPA's organizational context. We will discuss how these and other training efforts have influenced the Agency's evaluation culture, helped develop a common program evaluation language, and shaped perceptions regarding evaluation. |
