| Abstract: This demonstration extends Ritter and Sue's (2007) New Directions for Evaluation edition on online surveys in evaluation by addressing (1) the use of multiple instruments integrated through technology, and (2) the use of technology in evaluation practice in addition to data collection. The Education Alliance at Brown University is utilizing online tools to enhance evaluation work processes and extend collaboration among project teams and participants. The demonstration walks attendees through three evaluation instruments, including: a professional development log, interview/observation protocol, and pre-post test, all administered via an Open Source platform. The demonstration includes discussion of successes and challenges in developing online tools for evaluation. For example, the log instrument requires several entries over time, the observation protocol involves narrative data, and the student survey expects the same participant complete both the pre- and post-test. Each of these settings will be addressed through a viable and accessible technology resource. |
