Abstract: Corporations today are seeking and implementing best approaches to entice, develop, and retain talent within the organization. Today's 'war on talent' requires that an organization effectively utilize its most important resource to both enhance the employee experience and boost company performance. Where does evaluation fit on the talent management stage? Does it play a starring or a supportive role? The session will provide the author's experience in shaping evaluation policy and practice in corporate initiatives. It will specifically address 3 of the questions our President asked us to consider in our proposals: - What policies need to be developed or used in guiding evaluation in talent management? - What systemic evaluation policies and practices could help the organization meet its goals? - What role can we as an evaluation community help to create and support organizational effectiveness goals?
