| Abstract: This think tank will explore ideas for building Indigenous evaluation capacity through the support of new and aspiring Indigenous evaluators. The facilitator will introduce the topic by characterizing the current state of Indigenous evaluation literature and describing the need for a focus on the complex issues faced by new and aspiring Indigenous evaluators. Participants will be invited to further explore barriers and the ways in which relationships with experienced evaluators might alleviate some of these challenges. Participants will divide into discussion groups based on experience which will allow them to share challenges they have faced, or for new and aspiring evaluators, challenges they are concerned about facing. Following small group report-outs, participants will return to their groups to focus on strategies for addressing the challenges listed by the whole group. The think tank will conclude with report-outs and whole-group dialog designed to stimulate further thinking and exchange on the issue. |
