Session Title: Can You Hear Me Now? Use of Audience Response Systems to Evaluate Educational Programming
Demonstration Session 562 to be held in Centennial Section G on Friday, Nov 7, 10:55 AM to 11:40 AM
Sponsored by the Extension Education Evaluation TIG
Presenter(s):
Karen Ballard,  University of Arkansas,  kkballard@uaex.edu
Abstract: Extension educators are challenged by the evolving accountability culture that pushes for credible evidence of impact from public education programs and initiatives. The logistics and time required to develop, deliver and evaluate programming is often daunting to community based educators, sometimes working as a one-person team. Personal response technology (PRS) is an interactive communications system that provides real time engagement of participants. PRS is a promising tool for reducing the burden of meaningful evaluation practice, while likewise enhancing the value of the evaluation product. This demonstration will be experientially based, with individual student transmitters provided for group participation.
