| Abstract: A brief overview of traditional approaches and challenges in meta-analysis of cost/benefit studies will first be provided. These techniques and their limitations will be presented in light of their significance within the fields of education and health. Then an integrated approach will be introduced that has been designed to overcome many of the traditional challenges. The presentation will serve to demonstrate how cost/benefit meta-analysis can be used to better inform ex-ante evaluation of policy and program options. Examples applying the approach will show how it works prospectively to improve the synthesis and harmonization of policy and program evaluation studies and results. |
