| Abstract: Dozens of tools have been developed for the purpose of preparing evaluators for practice. We have described models, outlined policies, designed instruments, written textbooks, and created job aids. We have tried everything from role playing to board games. But which of these tools is most effective? What makes it effective? What do evaluators want from a an instructional tool? From a professional job aid? This roundtable session will provide participants an opportunity to explore the challenges of evaluation, the gaps in evaluation training, some of the tools currently available and essential characteristics of future tools to help evaluators link theory, policy, and practice. |
