| Abstract: The Life Stories for Incarcerated and At-Risk Youth Program has served more than 650 young people, including newly arrived immigrant girls, severely emotionally and behaviorally challenged teens residing in residential treatment facilities, adolescent sexual offenders and incarcerated teens. In the past eight years that the program has been running, there has been a struggle to incorporate evaluation activities because of the transient population of the participants as well as the turnover rates of the staff. This past year however, the Community Foundation of Greater Washington received an anonymous donation to have an outside consultant conduct a thorough impact evaluation of the program. This round table will provide an overview of the evaluator's strategies used to assess the program as well as the successes and challenges encountered. |
