| Abstract: This roundtable is based on the presenter’s 2008 publication titled What Works, Effective Recidivism Reduction and Risk-Focused Prevention Programs: A Compendium of Evidence-Based Options for Preventing New and Persistent Criminal Behavior. Based on a comprehensive and systematic review of the literature, the publication discusses the impact of incarceration on crime, what works to reduce recidivism, what works to prevent the onset of delinquent and criminal behavior, and key issues concerning effective program implementation. Methods employed, key findings, and lessons learned from the research will be described during the presentation. |
