| Abstract: Evaluations often rely on clients and other non-researchers to collect data. The purpose of this think tank is to brainstorm ideas on how to collect quality data with inexperienced data collectors. Session attendees will discuss (a) how to ensure that inexperienced data collectors follow correct and ethical protocols, (b) how properly to train inexperienced data collectors including situations where face-to-face training may be unfeasible, (c) how to ensure accurate and precise data, and (d) how to instill the importance of collecting quality data to accomplish the goals of the research project. Session attendees will discuss these points in small groups. The think tank will conclude with a collective discussion about working with non-researchers to collect quality data. |
