| Abstract: A checklist is a mnemonic device that consists of a list of activities, items, and criteria used to perform a certain task. When used in evaluation, checklists provide guidance for the collection of relevant evidence used to determine the merit, worth, or significance of an evaluand. This skill-building workshop introduces participants to the development and use of evaluation checklists. The first part of the workshop includes an inventory of available checklists and their application with a focus on three recently developed evaluation checklists: the cost analysis checklist, the organizational effectiveness checklist, and the sustainability evaluation checklist. The workshop is structured into mini-lectures and hands-on applications of checklists and components of checklists. Exemplary cases delivered by the facilitators of the workshop will aid in demonstrating key aspects of developing and using evaluation checklists to facilitate an evaluation and improve its validity, credibility, and utility. |
