| Abstract: Comparisons can provide new perspectives and unique points of reference, so we have invited two knowledgeable outsiders to help us better understand our American context issues. Oumoul Khayri Ba Tall is former president of the African Evaluation Association, a founder and former board member in the Mauritania Monitoring and Evaluation Association, and current president of the International Organisation for Cooperation in Evaluation. Peter Dahler-Larsen is former president of the European Evaluation Society and member of the Danish Evaluation Society. Ms. Ba Tall and Mr. Dahler-Larsen will provide African and European perspectives on important context issues, drawing on their own evaluation experiences and on those of their fellow evaluation colleagues from West, East, South and North Africa and from Eastern to Western Europe. Each will present and illustrate several of the most salient context issues, then discuss the implications for the ways evaluation is planned, implemented and used. |
