Abstract: There are many added challenges to overcome when implementing evaluations in the Third World. These challenges may range from technological to cultural. Cultural language barriers are among the most prominent and difficult barriers to overcome in order to provide a credible evaluation in indigenous evaluations. This article provides insights from the evaluator's experience of cultural and language barriers that were present during an evaluation of a non-profit organization, Care for Life. This evaluation was conducted in Mozambique, Africa with the Sena and Ndou people.
