Session Title: Applications of Multiple Regression for Evaluators
Demonstration Session 706 to be held in Lone Star E on Saturday, Nov 13, 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM
Sponsored by the Quantitative Methods: Theory and Design TIG
Presenter(s):
Dale Berger, Claremont Graduate University, dale.berger@cgu.edu
Abstract: Multiple regression is a powerful tool that has many applications in evaluation and applied research. Regression analyses are used to describe relationships, test theories, make predictions with data from experimental or observational studies, and model linear or nonlinear relationships, including interactions. This demonstration will begin with a review of correlation, assumptions for statistical tests, diagnostics, and remedies for problems. A review of simple regression will be followed by examples of multiple regression models that may be useful in evaluation research, including models with categorical predictors and interactions. A handout with examples will include SPSS/PASW instructions and output.
