| Abstract: Attendees will learn about and apply the newly published (August 2010) 3rd edition Program Evaluation Standards (SAGE, 2010). The Joint Committee Task Force authors, serving as session leaders, will review quality control steps taken during the standards development process, guide individuals and groups in applications of the standards, and lead discussions about how the standards define and enhance evaluation quality in specific evaluation settings. Attendees will also have the opportunity to report their own evaluation dilemmas and discuss in small and large groups how to apply the program evaluation standards to increase and balance dimensions of evaluation quality, such as utility, feasibility, propriety, accuracy, and evaluation accountability, in these settings. The workshop will deal explicitly with metaevaluation and its role in evaluation quality improvement and accountability. Attendees will receive handouts to support reflective practice in their future evaluations and evaluation-related work. |
