Abstract: California Lutheran University has been conducting online course evaluations for the past two years. This session will focus on the strategies used to transition to the online system, mainly through developing an understanding of the process between students, faculty, and staff. Connections between groups were developed through successful student marketing campaigns, cross-committee faculty meetings, a faculty survey, a staff workshop, and the creation of our diverse CoursEval Team. This session will discuss how these strategies created campus-wide awareness of the importance of online course evaluations.

This presentation will focus on the strategies California Lutheran University used to transition to online course evaluations. Once we switched to an online system, it became evident that students and faculty did not fully understand the course evaluation process and the use and importance of course evaluations. Evaluation quality was developed through successful student marketing campaigns, cross-committee faculty meetings, a faculty survey, and the creation of our diverse CoursEval Team.

This presentation will focus on the history of the paper and pencil course evaluations at California Lutheran University and how transitioning to online course evaluations has initiated more staff involvement. We have learned it is important to build connections with our staff members on campus due to their interactions with both students and faculty. Evaluation quality was developed through information sessions, workshops, and a course evaluation website.
