| Abstract: Public health programs have weathered tough economic and political times. These situations result in programs wondering if they are sustainable. To assist programs, the Center for Tobacco Policy Research at Washington University developed a framework and tool to assess the sustainability of public health programs. Concept mapping and expert review were utilized to refine and validate the framework. An advisory panel of researchers, practitioners, and funders provided input on the development of a tool based on the framework. The tool is intended to be used by stakeholders to assess a program’s capacity for sustainability and identify opportunities for improvement. During this session, the sustainability framework will be introduced and the validation and testing processes will be described. We will also demonstrate the use of the tool for practitioners, funders, and evaluators. At the end of the session, participants will be able to apply the framework to their own work. |
