Abstract: In this Think Tank session, participants will explore the challenges of planning a multipurpose evaluation that meets the needs of diverse stakeholders, specifically the needs of multiple funders. The chair will present a case study and ask participants to engage in collaboration and consensus building to develop an evaluation plan that is responsive to the needs of all parties and succeeds in measuring the outcomes of the initiative. Session participants will join facilitated breakout groups that represent individual stakeholders—a nonprofit parent organization, statewide affiliates and various funders—and will be asked to design the beginning phases of an evaluation plan. Breakout groups will present their plans to the larger audience, and then collaborate to incorporate all of the small group evaluation plans into one. The session concludes with attendees sharing their own experiences designing high quality multipurpose evaluations that meet the needs of multiple audiences.
