Session Title: Funder’s Use of Network Analysis to Build Intentional Collaboration
Panel Session 545 to be held in Lone Star D on Friday, Nov 12, 10:55 AM to 11:40 AM
Sponsored by the Non-profit and Foundations Evaluation TIG
Chair(s):
David J Dobrowski, First 5 Monterey, dobrowski@gmail.com
Abstract: Once you have network analysis maps, what do you do with them? They are useful tools to create a picture of the nature and depth of relationships. We will share how a funder used network analysis maps with a group of twenty three funded agencies. The agencies were able to use the maps to make strategic organizational decisions as to how and with whom it made sense to coordinate and collaborate. Techniques for helping grantees read and understand the network maps - as well as facilitating discussions with them - will be shared. At a different level, how the maps were used by the funder to understand shifts in the service delivery system for young children will also be shared.
