Abstract: Concordance refers to the case in which equating methods are used to link scores on tests that are built to different specifications. This paper presentation uses an example of an information literacy assessment. Two earlier versions of the assessments were replaced with a single revised version; institutions need to know how these two exams compare. A concordance study was conducted showing the correspondence between the scores on the two previous versions and the revised version. This paper presentation will 1) provide a general review of procedures used to link scores on assessments, with an emphasis on concordances; 2) provide a step-by-step process for developing concordances; 3) describe how the process was applied to the development of the concordance between the previous and revised versions of the information literacy assessment and 4) highlight key considerations that need to be made when developing concordances.
