| Abstract:
The Masters in Health Evaluation is a innovative experience in M&E capacity building organized by the Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública Sergio Arouca (ENSP/FIOCRUZ) in Brazil.
Its goal is to build capacity among health professionals in order to evaluate programs to control endemic processes in the country. Social historical and technical operation dimensions are considered, based on communication, ongoing education and evaluation knowledge production to transform government attitudes regarding its programs.
The course is conducted with a dynamic pedagogical approach, oriented by several learning objectives and through a methodology based in real cases and problems. The curriculum gathers learning and practice which are defined by different profiles and skills, so that a new evaluator is formed. Up to now, 19 masters have concluded the program and there are 32 current students. All of them develop evaluations to answer major questions of the public health sector in Brazil.
