Abstract: A world-class, innovative, integrated ‘Whanau Ora’ Health Care System in New Zealand aims to achieve positive Whanau Ora outcomes through supporting the delivery of high quality health and social services to Maori whanau / families and high-needs populations. ‘Whanau Ora’ is manifest in whanau who are nurtured, healthy, engaged and knowledgeable, confident and productive who are on a journey to achieving self-determined success. This session demonstrates the REWA System of Transformative Evaluation; founded on Pono (Truth), Ahua (Beauty) and Tika (Justice); and supported by the core values of the Whanau Ora System itself, namely Whanaungatanga (Relationships), Manaakitanga (Support), Rangatiratanga (Sovereignty, Leadership), and Tikanga (Transactional Justice, Ethics, Protocols)as evidenced in the evaluation framework of the Whanau Ora System. Understanding Maori and Indigenous ways of assessing and evaluating merit based on traditional values and cultural expressions, this dynamic evaluation generates continuous learning and ground-breaking transformation for all stakeholders.
