| Abstract: Dr. Kathleen Bolland, Assistant Dean of The University of Alabama School of Social Work, will provide a brief introduction to how the relatively new Council on Social Work Education Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards affect the curricular emphasis on evaluation and how that relates to the accountability movement in government and in social service agencies. She will then facilitate a discussion about how we teach evaluation to BSW, MSW, and PhD students and how social workers conduct and use evaluations in their practice (agency or private practice). This is a topic that every member of the TIG should find relevant and interesting! How were you taught about evaluation? What do you teach your students about evaluation? How broadly or narrowly should evaluation be taught at different levels of social work education? Come share your thoughts in this facilitated discussion, part of the annual business meeting for the SW TIG. |
