Roundtable: Being on Target: Evaluation Techniques for Disaster Relief Agencies
Roundtable Presentation 334 to be held in SAN JACINTO on Thursday, Nov 11, 3:35 PM to 4:20 PM
Sponsored by the Disaster and Emergency Management Evaluation TIG
Presenter(s):
LaJuana Hector, Texas A&M University, hector@tarleton.edu
Abstract: In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, non-governmental organizations, for profit businesses, and churches throughout the northern Texas region provided financial assistance, food, furniture, clothing, and intangible services to disaster victims. Not all agencies were able to demonstrate their outcome success percentage or outcome measure rates. Through empirical research, an eclectic evaluation model is presented as a tool for disaster relief agencies to utilize throughout the programs life-cycle.
