Abstract: Over the past decade, a number of AEA members have been meeting informally at the annual conference to discuss specific issues related to evaluating programs and services for young people. Historically, participants have come to these discussion groups from a variety of TIGs, including: Advocacy and Policy Change; Collaborative, Participatory, and Empowerment; Extension Education; Pre-K to 12 Education and social work. No matter our affiliation, we are all passionate about positive youth development and strategies that put youth voice front and center in youth participatory evaluation processes, products, effectiveness, and practical and transformative impacts. As our small group has grown to more than two-dozen members, we find the need to carve out a more formal thread within AEA to share or methods, approaches, and lessons learned. We invite all evaluators interested in the field of positive youth development to discuss the possibility of creating a new TIG.
