Abstract: How does an indigenous college within a Research I university approach program evaluation? There are both philosophical and practical challenges inherent in the program evaluation process due to differing purposes, perspectives regarding mastery, and eclectic methods of data collection, analysis, and presentation. The challenges for a college's evaluation team is to create an evaluation design that meets both institutional and cultural aims by "re"languaging the process of evaluation and assessment that decolonizes both the processes and the perspectives, reveals a commitment to cultural values as well as an understanding and respect for academic values, and builds bridges that support the work and the vitality of the indigenous programs. How this is done without creating an overly complex evaluation design is the focus of the think tanks discussion.
