| Abstract: In this think tank session, participants will explore the challenges of determining indicators for diverse groups of participants engaged in a multiple-touch, school-based health science initiative implemented by a science and cultural organization over several years. The facilitators will present a case study and ask participants to engage in collaborative brainstorming to determine indicators that can help with the measurement of health outcomes in youth, while also meeting the needs of, and responding to the outcomes articulated by, funders and program staff. Session participants will join facilitated breakout groups that represent groups engaged with programming-students, teachers or families-and will be asked to think through specific indicators. Breakout groups will present indicators to the larger group, and group leaders will facilitate a discussion about the challenges of determining indicators of health in the context of multifaceted, school-based programming with intended outcomes that extend beyond the walls of the school. |
