| Abstract: This session introduces new and nontraditional conceptual framework and methodology for evaluating organizational processes, which aim not only at documenting an existing state of the program processes, but also at developing opportunities for process improvements to enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency. This methodology is an adaptation of Lean philosophy, a process improvement framework that focuses on delivering most value to clients, while consuming the fewest resources. This methodology will enable evaluators to guide their clients to improve their programs through improvement of their processes, help them embrace the culture of continuous learning and quality improvement, and survive constrains of the current fiscal climate of dwindling resources. The session will highlight a systematic and visual way of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives and introduce multiple tools, including Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Process Flow Mapping, which will assist organizations and evaluators in accomplishing these tasks. |
