| Abstract: The Think Tank is designed as a follow-up to the proposed Professional Development Workshop on "The tools and techniques of feminist and gender responsive evaluation", providing more time to explore issues raised in the workshop. Gender analysis uses different approaches for collecting information on differential access to services, political participation, control of resources and decision making based on gender. Feminist evaluation incorporates the concern for social justice and personal values, and explores the social, cultural and political factors that underpin inequality based on gender. Meanwhile, policies about incorporating gender awareness are becoming increasingly prominent in the United Nations and other organizations. Participants will divide into groups and discuss the changing gender policy landscape, and participant experiences/personal values. It is anticipated that international evaluators receiving scholarships through the AEA- UN-Women cooperative program will attend/share their perspectives. |
