Abstract: As program evaluation becomes more important in all types of government, hiring talented and ethical evaluators also becomes more important. This forum will be for evaluators to discuss difficulties faced in recruiting qualified evaluators to live and work in rural settings and also as it applies to subgroup and minority populations. The facilitators will share struggles encountered in Wyoming. Attendees will then break into small groups to examine the issue further. The following questions will help guide our discussion. What challenges have you faced in recruiting qualified/experienced evaluators? How do you market and advertise? What does your hiring process look like? How can we adapt our strategies to better meet our recruiting and retention challenges? The answers to these questions will provoke a larger discussion generating ideas to enhance recruiting strategies and help job hunters find positions that match their qualifications.
