| Abstract: In this session, the presenters will offer a set of principles to guide successful cost-effectiveness analyses. An emphasis will be placed on making this content practical and concrete, and all principles will be illustrated using real-life examples of educational studies the presenters have completed. Specific topics to be covered include: - The difference between cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis, and when each is appropriate - In what situations cost-effectiveness studies are most likely to be successful - Which costs and benefits should be considered in an analysis - How to calculate costs and benefits - Strategies for conducting cost-effectiveness studies on a limited budget Participants will leave with an understanding of the theoretical framework of cost-effectiveness analysis and the knowledge of practical issues they need to consider before conducting such a study. |
