| Abstract: Needs assessors may implement methods without enough thought to hidden methodological and philosophical issues inherent in them. Following a short presentation (perhaps 15 minutes or so), participants will form into roundtable groups to formulate additional problems and concerns they perceive or have encountered. Then the total group will meet to discuss an expanded laundry list of things to think about when they identify and prioritize needs and as they guide institutions and agencies to formulate solutions to rectify needs. The session will be primarily participant driven and perhaps will even help to lead to future papers and presentations on this or a related theme at AEA. |
