AEA Welcomes International Presenters
AEA is aware of the uncertainty felt by members and potential conference attendees around the world over international travel due to the political climate in the United States. AEA leadership and management will continue to monitor the circumstances. Meanwhile, AEA emphasizes the following:
- Invitation letters – AEA issues invitation letters to any international attendee or presenter upon request. These letters can sometimes make it easier to obtain a travel visa. An invitation letter should be requested immediately upon receipt of an acceptance notice from AEA conference planners.
- Cancellation policy – AEA will amend its cancellation policy (below in red) to allow for refund requests from international travelers who encounter complications that prevent attendance.
Cancellation Policy: Refunds less a $50 fee will be granted for requests received in writing prior to 11:59 PM EDT October 3, 2017. Email cancellation requests to email@example.com. Fax requests to (202) 367-2173. All refunds are processed after the meeting. After October 3, 2017, all sales are final. For Evaluation 2017 international attendees and presenters who encounter complications due to the international travel environment will have up to 30 days after the event to request a refund and submit appropriate documentation. No administrative fee will apply for the international requests. The $50 fee will be waived for registrants traveling into the US and experiencing international travel issues.
