Evaluation 2016 Theme: Evaluation + Design
Keep design in mind
“Everything we evaluate is designed. Every evaluation we conduct is designed. Every report, graph, or figure we present is designed. In our profession, design and evaluation are woven together to support the same purpose—making the world a better place. This is the inspiration for the 2016 theme: Evaluation + Design. In 2016, we will be diving into this concept looking specifically at three areas—program design, evaluation design, and information design” - AEA President, John Gargani.
John encourages you to keep this theme in mind when developing your proposals for 2016! Click here to read more about this year's conference theme.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a dynamic variety of presentations to meet the diverse needs of the AEA members. Our call for proposals comprises all presentation types including panel discussions, expert lectures, roundtables, skill building workshops, ignite sessions, and birds of a feather gatherings. You can learn more about our different session types on the AEA website.
Based on Evaluation 2014 and 2015 survey results, conference attendees prefer 45 minute concurrent sessions over 90 minute sessions, although both session types continue to make gains in popularity. Skill-building workshops, panel discussions, and demonstrations continue to be the most popular session types. Download a quick snapshot of the data in the AEA Survey Summary Report to find more attendee feedback. You can also download the full conference survey report here.
