Hi AEA365 readers! Liz DiLuzio here, Lead Curator for the blog. After two energizing days of #Eval25 workshops, today we shift into the conference’s main sessions.

Each year, thousands of us gather to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. But let’s be honest: conferences can feel like drinking from a fire hose. In just a few days, we often generate more insights than we can process in months. To make sure that inspiration sticks, it helps to be intentional about capturing what’s sparking your curiosity. Here are a few simple ways to do that so the learning continues long after you’re home. what’s lighting you up right now so you can turn it into meaningful learning when you return home.

Hot Tips

1. Capture “aha” moments daily. Each evening, jot down 3–5 ideas that stood out and why they mattered. Even a short reflection helps you remember context later.
2. Mark ideas you want to implement. Add a simple star or note next to anything you’d like to try in your own work. Think of them as micro-experiments: a new data viz, a participatory method, or a reflection question to test with your team.
3. Connect and reflect with others. Talk through what inspired you with a colleague or someone new at the conference. Explaining ideas aloud helps cement them—and opens up new perspectives.
4. Choose one next step now. Before you leave Kansas City, identify one idea you’ll apply within 30 days. Write it in your calendar as a mini goal.
5. Stay connected to presenters. Follow speakers on LinkedIn or Twitter while the conference is fresh. Let them know how their session resonated. These small connections can lead to long-term learning.
