Five Tips for New AEA Members

Welcome to AEA! We are so excited to have you as a part of our association. We have compiled five insider tips to help you make the most of your membership.

1)     Keep Your Profile Up-to-Date

Your AEA profile is vitally important to support your engagement and success with the association. We use your profile information to inform you of important announcements, update the member directory, and inform your “Find an Evaluator” listing.

You can tailor your profile to best fit your needs. Access Your Profile

2)     Join 5 Topical Interest Groups (TIGs)

AEA members may join any Topical Interest Groups (TIGs). Although your TIG membership is unlimited, we recommend joining five to maintain engagement. Each TIG is defined around a special topic or interest subgroups of AEA. TIGs coordinate their efforts through AEA and participate actively in AEA's annual conference through reviewing proposals in their area of interest and developing a strand of conference sessions. Explore and join TIGs here.

3)     Meet the Board of Directors through Town Halls

AEA regularly hosts virtual Town Halls open to all members. These Town Halls allow for direct engagement between members and the AEA Board of Directors, in which strategic questions and topics may be posed to the membership for input. Access past Town Halls.

4)     Find the Best Career Options in the Career Center

Members have exclusive access to the AEA Career Center. AEA maintains both job/RFP and resume banks as a service to the evaluation profession. You can post your resume, apply to jobs, and create search criteria with custom alerts to aid in your job search.

5)     Access Free Education in the Digital Knowledge Hub

The AEA Digital Knowledge Hub is home to AEA’s online education offerings. Members have unlimited free access to our catalogue of live and recorded Coffee Breaks that are posted in the Digital Knowledge Hub. These 20-minute presentations take place year-round and focus on key insights and niche topics impacting evaluations. As a member, you also receive a member discount on all offerings in the Digital Knowledge Hub.
