AEA hosts several events to connect the evaluation community and advance the profession.

AEA’s top event is the Evaluation Annual Conference, featuring more than 50 workshops, hundreds of concurrent educational sessions, and dozens of posters, connecting you to thought leaders in the field.

We also offer the Evaluation Summer Institute, which provides high-caliber education delivered in a more intimate setting. The Summer Evaluation Institute features interactive workshops with a focus on the diverse issues unique to evaluation professionals.

AEA members have access to a wide array of educational resources, including free 20-minute Coffee Break webinars. These Coffee Breaks share smart tips for evaluators, tools for enhancing your practice, and insights into new concepts impacting evaluation. Members also receive special pricing on our in-depth eStudy courses, which provide expert guidance on top-of-mind evaluation topics. Plus, on-demand courses such as Evaluation 101 allow you to learn on your own schedule.

Members are added to our “Find an Evaluator” tool. Members and nonmembers alike use this tool to collaborate, develop partnerships, and connect with other professionals who are conducting similar evaluations. The “Find an Evaluator” tool has consistently been one of our highest viewed webpages, giving our members maximum visibility.

Membership includes participation in AEA’s 60+ Topical Interest Groups (TIGs). Each TIG offers a professional community of colleagues who share similar interests and professional focus. Through TIG involvement, members influence sessions chosen for the annual conference, have an impact on AEA initiatives, and receive regular newsletters and electronic updates regarding the latest happenings in the field and AEA.

AEA has more than 6,000 members who communicate, seek advice, and find resources through EVALTALK, our evaluation-focused discussion forum. EVALTALK is a key resource in communicating with other evaluators with diverse backgrounds.

AEA members enjoy free access to industry job postings via AEA's Career Center. In the Career Center, you can upload your resume, search for job openings, and subscribe to tailored job alerts.

Members receive hardcopy and electronic subscriptions to AEA’s two journals, The American Journal of Evaluation (AJE) and New Directions for Evaluation (NDE). Members also receive electronic access to both current and published content from Evaluation Review and Evaluation and the Health Professions. Plus, AEA365 offers a daily blog full of relevant tips and topics.

In addition to registration discounts, members receive up to 25% off on the majority of publications in the field when ordered directly from our publishing partners: Corwin Press, Guilford Press, Oxford University Press, SAGE, Jossey Bass and Wiley.
